Dreamworks Animation has released the first video trailer of the upcoming animated series called Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, which follows the characters and plotlines of the original live-action movie franchise. The first episode should debut on Netflix before the end of 2019, but the studio provides no premiere date.
The story revolves around Tony Toretto, Dominic Toretto’s cousin. He and his friends will challenge a criminal syndicate masquerading as a racing league – and end up forced to cooperate by a government agency with an agenda of its own.
Hollywood star Vin Diesel counts among the executive producers of the animation.
Returning to the main Fast & Furious franchise, the ninth instalment in the saga should hit the theaters in April next year. Unsurprising, given that the latest movie grossed over 1.2 billion USD.
