George Barris counts among the most popular U.S. car tuners of the 1950s and 60s. He was the one who built the original Batmobile, among many other iconic vehicles we still remember today. This Oldsmobile Toronado featured in the then-popular Mannis TV series is yet another creation of his.
He began by taking a 1967 Toronado, sawing off its roof, installing a tarpaulin soft top and removing the back seats. He then added a secret gun compartment and a telephone. This is how the legendary Mannix Roadster from the namesake series came to be.
The car is reported to be in great condition and retain all of its original paint, trimming and tech.
The eBay ad asks for U.S. $135,000.
