It has been a while since we have last heard about the Alpina B3. The BMW tuner unveiled its luxed-up sports sedan in late 2019; in early 2021, the car finally gave us a good reason to mention it again.
Piloted by Guido Naumann, the saloon has lapped up the entire Sachsenring in 1:36.67, setting a new record in its competition category. It left behind even the Mercedes-AMG GT (1:36.80), the AMG C63 S (1:36.96), the Lamborghini Urus (1:36.99), and the SLR McLaren (1:37.10).
Powering the Alpina B3 is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine capable of 455 PS (450 hp / 335 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. It gets the car up to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds and all the way up to 303 km/h (188 mph).
The engine links to a ZF 8-speed A/T and an xDrive system capable of variable torque vectoring. Further upgrades include a limited-slip rear differential, tweaked suspension, a sports exhaust system, and a body kit.
Prices in Germany start from €81,250.
