Rimac announces Concept Two, a nigh-autonomous all-electric hypercar

The Croatian hypercar maker Rimac has announced the forthcoming release of its second hypercar to date, the Concept Two. The vehicle gets a truly monstrous engine alongside with a whole range of self-drive equipment.

According to an official source, the company had to work hard on improving the battery capacity of the vehicle which is meant to become the main market opponent of the Tesla Roadster. As for the self-drive function, the car is going to be able to resolve practically any road situation without human intervention, but can be steered normally as well.

According to Rimac CEO Monika Mikac, “Concept Two” is just a provisional name for the vehicle and won’t make it into the series production. Just what it will be called, we don’t know yet.

We do know, however, that it’s going to surpass its junior model, the Concept One, in just about everything. The latter comes with a fantastic drivetrain composed of four electric engines with 1224 hp total output – and a meager 82kWh battery set to power it. It accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.5 seconds.

The manufacturer plans to release a hundred of its Concept Two hypercars worth in excess of U.S. $1,000,000 each.
