Even though a three-wheel roadster should be relatively simple to design and build, manufacturers have always released these with rather steep price tags attached. Some cost as much as U.S. $50,000 – and others still more. Someone in Vanderhall, apparently, thought it was time to change this stereotype.
At U.S. $27,000, the new Vanderhall Venice Speedster is indeed quite an affordable vehicle, although it only has the driver’s seat. It is based on an aluminum chassis and features a part-carbon body.
The car carries a 1.4L four-cylinder turbo engine partnered with a six-speed automatic transmission. No performance figures are being revealed.
To keep the price reasonably low, the manufacturer has stripped the car of most options. A bare minimum – seat heating and a 400W sound system – is still there, though.
Vanderhall is already accepting pre-orders for the new vehicle. First batches should ship in the coming fall.
The manufacturer will debut its Carmel and Edison4 three-wheelers in 2019, followed by the Venice R and Venice Speedster R in 2020.
