Touring Superleggera caves in to client demands, announces Sciadipersia convertible

Elite coachbuilder Touring Superleggera announced its strictly limited Sciadipersia coupe series a year ago, saying it would not be releasing more than 10 copies of the car in an attempt to maintain exclusivity. However, clients of the company have since repeatedly asked it for an open-top variant of the Touring Sciadipersia, which was not on the production queue. A dilemma ensued.

A few days ago, the company debuted the convertible version of the Sciadipersia Touring at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. In a rather smart move, it decided to limit the overall production quantity to just 15 units, coupe AND convertible included. So, in the end, it might end up releasing fewer than 10 units of either.

The new convertible uses the Maserati GranCabrio chassis and sports a 100% original, hand-sculpted body partly made of carbon.

Inside, the upholstery is new, but the entire equipment set is stock Maserati.

The car packs a 4.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine rated at 460 hp (343 kW), which links to a six-speed automatic transmission. The car sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in five seconds flat and tops out at 288 km/h (179 mph).

A single Touring Sciadipersia takes half a year to complete, and you are required to source your own vehicle. Prices are only being disclosed to interested buyers.
