Drag Race: SAR’s cheapest car vs. bike

We often cover drag racing events here at FormaCar, because as simple as these races may be, they still provide valuable insight into how cars compare in terms of acceleration and power delivery to the ground. But what if a contest were to take place between low-end cars, or not even cars at all?

A very entertaining example of just such a race occurred just now in the South African Republic between a normal bicycle and a Qute quadricycle. Pedaled by Ashley Oldfield, the former exerts up to 1.6 horsepower to the rear wheel. The latter uses an electric motor to drive its rear axle with 10.8 times the power of a horse.

The Qute sure has a power advantage here, but will it be enough to offset its weight? Watch the video, the ending is hilarious!
