Volvo-based new Lynk&Co 09 is larger and cheaper than the XC90

Lynk&Co has introduced its newest flagship SUV, the 09. The car uses Volvo’s SPA underpinnings and ships with a 2.0-liter turbo-four mill available in three hybrid specifications.

Being 5042х1977х1780 millimeters long, wide and tall, the newcomer is the largest production vehicle based on the SPA platform so far. The wheelbase of 2,984 mm is equal to that of the Volvo XC90, but the 09 is both longer and wider than its Swedish relative.

Wheels measure 21 inches across, there is a large radiator grille with vertical fins, pull-out door handles and gill-like slits on the fenders. The lighting design resembles that of the Zeekr 001, among other cars.

Found inside are a 12.6-inch digital dash screen, a 12.8-inch infotainment display, a squared-off steering wheel and partially sensor-based HVAC controls. The front seats are power-adjustable in 12 ways, heated, and have integrated headrests.

Customers will be able to choose between six- and seven-seat versions of the SUV, the former featuring individual second row seats and the latter a sofa for three. A two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric starter and an eight-speed A/T will be the most affordable option rated at 252 PS (249 hp / 185 kW).

The launch is expected in late 2021, and prices remain undisclosed so far.
