Hongqi debuted its first-ever crossover model right after the E-Jing GT Concept at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2018). The vehicle should celebrate its domestic release before the end of the year.
The presentation centered on an all-electric modification of the new Hongqi E-HS3, but the manufacturer promises a number of gasoline engines for the production vehicle.
The exterior of the car mimics the U-Concept demonstrated at the Shanghai auto show in 2017. No details have been revealed about its architecture, but an earlier message from the company said all new cars would take advantage of a brand-new platform.
Some sources say the all-electric Hongqi E-HS3 will be able to accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in about six seconds and travel up to 350 km (~220 mi) prior to exhausting its battery charge.
More specifications will be disclosed later.
