Polestar, an independent car manufacturer that evolved from Volvo’s in-house tuning division, has released the first image of its upcoming second vehicle. Called the Polestar 2, it is an all-electric hatchback that aims for the same market segment as the Tesla Model 3.
The company says the car will be getting a hi-end myltimedua system with the support for Google Android HMI, Google Assistant, Google Play and Google Maps. The software will be updated automatically.
The car featured on the photo looks like a four-door fastback. The manufacturer says it will ship with a single electric motor rated at 400 hp (300 kW) and offer 480 km (300 mi) of range.
The new Polestar 2 will enter the market priced similarly to the Tesla Model 3 (U.S. $44,000+).
