Torsus – a niche carmaker headquartered in the Czech Republic – has fully revealed its Terrastorm model. The extreme off-roader comes based on the VW Crafter chassis and boasts an all-new plastic body kit.
The main spec will ship with a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine rated at 140 hp (104 kW) and 340 Nm (254 lb-ft) of torque. Those looking for more performance will be able to opt for a more potent version rated at 176 hp (131 kW) and 410 Nm (302 lb-ft). Both specs have AWD by default and ship with a choice between six-speed manual and eight-speed auto transmission.
The two available trim levels are called TT1 “Coach” and TT2 “Nomad”. Compared against the vanilla Crafter, both sport suspension reinforcements, a winch and plenty of protective body cover. The latter category notably includes aluminum bottom guards for the radiator, engine, transmission, fuel tank and rear axle. The ground clearance amounts to impressive 290 millimeters (11.3 inches).
The cabin can accommodate up to twenty people, and you can easily reconfigure it for non-passenger uses, too. All passenger seats sport dedicated air vents and lights.
The MPV hits the market in the third quarter of 2020 priced starting from €57,461 in Europe.
