U.S.-based firm Spidey Tek has revealed its ongoing research into using genetically engineered spiders to produce a highly unique natural spider silk usable for the production of supercar bodies, windows, lights, wheels and cabin parts.
The Velozzi Spidey Concept featured on the teaser pic will premiere the technology soon. The management of the company claims its goal is to come up with the safest, lightest and most robust production car in history.
Based on the image provided, the firm intends to reuse a 13-year-old concept car originally built for the Automotive X Prize contest as its demo vehicle.
