Depicted here is a unique 1994 Aston Martin Virage Volante convertible that Charles, Prince of Wales, has used for 15 years.
From the legal point of view, Aston Martin rented the vehicle out to the heir apparent while maintaining ownership rights. However, the noble background is not the only selling point of the vehicle, which is essentially a one-off creation. The car comes with its stock 5.3-liter V8 swapped out for a larger 6.2-liter unit capable of 500 hp (373 kW). The exterior sports fewer decorations, but has a dedicated rear view mirror for the bodyguard. Another interesting feature comes in the form of the integrated sugar bowl that Prince Charles, a polo enthusiast, used to fill with sugar cubes and treat horses.
The convertible made its way back to the manufacturer in 2008 and sat as a museum exhibit in the company’s Gaydon, Warwickshire HQ. In 2012, it went under the hammer for £119,100. Its current owner decided to sell it now and expects to fetch between £225,000 and £275,000 for the car with around 34,000 miles (54,700 kilometers) under its belt.
