The Chinese startup CHJ Automotive came up with a curious concept of an ultra-compact electricity-powered urban car. Representatives of the company hope that their vehicle would be adopted as the main means of tourist transportation in such cities as Los-Angeles, U.S.A. and Paris, France as early as 2018.
The car, which goes by the name of SEV (Smart Electric Vehicle), obviously comes with an electric motor and – more interestingly – a set of removable batteries with quick charge support. Its manufacturer-rated one-charge traveling distance is 100 kilometers (~60 miles), while the top speed is a humble 45 km/h (28 mph).
The “so slim, it’s basically flat” vehicle also gets LED optics, nice 16-inch wheels and a parking assistance function. The interior houses two seats situated one behind another.
Manufacturers claim that the SEV has been mostly conceptualized as a vehicle for rent and targets tourists who only need to travel little distances from one point of interest to another.
