Mercedes-Benz EQC premiere date announced, video released

According to Daimler AG, the Mercedes-Benz EQC all-electric crossover vehicle will celebrate its official premiere in Stockholm on September 4, 2018. The company has also released a video showing the car without any kind of test mule camouflage.

Based on what there is to see, the vehicle will mostly follow the general design direction of the Generation EQ Concept introduced in 2016.

The Mercedes-Benz EQC will be based on a brand-new platform to be used by all future EVs of the marque. No technical data is being disclosed so far, but we know that the prototype car came equipped with two electric motors (one per axle) together capable of 408 hp (304 kW). It also had a 70 kWh battery for around 500 km (310 mi) of driving range.

Mercedes-Benz plans to begin sales of its EQC SUV in 2019. Prices remain unannounced.
