A sale ad for a vintage car called Delahaye 135 Competition has recently been posted online. The vehicle was built as a racecar in the faraway year 1936. Its current owner wants $25 million out of the deal.
A total of fifteen Delahaye 135 Competition racecars have been produced. This copy has spent a long time in a private collection before its owner felt like selling it.
The 82-year-old roadster still has the original body, engine, transmission and racing chassis. Its hood cover opens to reveal a 3.5-liter, six-cylinder racing engine capable of 120 horsepower (90 kilowatts), partnered with a four-speed manual transmission.
The Classic Car Club of America has given the extremely rare vehicle a score of 100 out of 100.
The Delahaye 135 Competition has achieved quite a lot on the racetrack in its days of glory. The car has repeatedly claimed championship in various Gran Prix races, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Rallye Monte Carlo, etc.
