Devel sheds more light on its 5,000-HP Sixteen hypercar

Shortly after publishing a video dedicated to testing its 5,000-horsepower hypercar named the Sixteen, Dubai-based car manufacturer Devel has released a few new details about its long-anticipated exotic.

First, the model will come in two variants: street-legal and track-only. The latter will be able to produce the insane amounts of power promised originally, while the road-going version will be capped at ‘just’ 3,000 PS (2,959 hp / 2,206 kW).

Customers will also be able to opt for a more affordable V8 version rated at 1,500 PS (1,479 hp / 1,103 kW), somewhat undermining the naming logic of the model (Sixteen refers to cylinder count). Regardless of the choice, the transmission will be dual-clutch automatic. The racecar will reportedly make use of a special gearbox design often found in dragsters.
