London-based startup automaker Naran Automotive has shared the first pics of its upcoming coupe-shaped hypercar expected to emerge in a production run of 49 units. Interestingly enough, the model will not be known under any single name, because each unit will be heavily customized and given a unique name, like a luxury yacht.
Powering the concept is a twin-turbo engine of unknown make worth 1,063 PS (1,048 hp / 782 kW) and 1,036 Nm (764 lb-ft) of torque. German tuner Racing Dynamics is responsible for adjusting the engine to fit the vehicle powertrain. The initial layout is front-engine, all-wheel drive, but the mill partially sits between the axles, and you can decouple the front axle whenever necessary.
The maximum speed is expected to lie close to 370 km/h, or 230 miles per hour. Getting from zero to 97 km/h (60 mph) will succeed in under 2.3 seconds, to 161 km/h (100 mph) – in 4.56 seconds.
Responsible for the design of the car is Wyn Design, a British studio that also made the De Tomaso P72 and the Apollo IE (watch the video for the latter). The entire body is made of carbon fiber, and so are the 22-inch wheels. The car exerts up to 1,377 kg (3,035 lbs) of downforce and sports carbon-ceramic brakes, power steering and spring-based suspension tuned for racing. The seating formula is 2+2.
Amir Naran, 34, originally from Zimbabwe, founded Naran Automotive to diversify its growing business. His other company, Vimana Private Jets, offers business jet services.
The production hypercar will celebrate its official premiere in early 2021.
