The annual Los-Angeles Auto Show tentatively penciled in for November 2020 in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic will not be happening this year, after all.
The organizing committee behind the event has decided to postpone it until May 2021 and will be announcing specific dates in the coming days or weeks.
This makes up for what could potentially be a very brisk trade show year of 2021, with the NIYAS show scheduled for April and the Detroit expo coming up in June.
The current year has already seen cancellations of major international motor shows in Geneva, Paris and Moscow, among others. The nearest event that stays in the queue is the Auto China show in Beijing set to open on September 25, 2020.
One other trend to point out is that many carmakers nowadays prefer to hold their presentations live on the Internet, which is much cheaper and practical than participating in a trade fair.
