Check out a 5,221-PS Bulgaria-made hypercar

Alieno Ltd is a niche carmaker headquartered in the village of Slashten, Bulgaria. Ahmed Merchev founded the company five years ago and is currently acting as its CEO and CTO at the same time. In 2018m, the Alieno announced an insane-specced hypercar named Arcanum, and today, some details have emerged about it.

The company reports that it plans to produce four versions of the car, rated at 2,610, 3,481, 4,351 and 5,221 metric horsepower. Translated into U.S. mechanical horsepower, the numbers would be 2,574, 3,433, 4,291 and 5,149 hp, accordingly. If you want kilowatts, then it is 1,920, 2,560, 3,200 and 3,840 kW, respectively.

The power comes from twenty-four tiny electric motors built into the wheels packed six per wheel. No acceleration estimates have been provided, but the company claims the car can hit 488 km/h (303 mph). Pre-orders are already running, and prices start at €1.5 million.

The vehicle relies on supercapacitors and a graphene battery (available sizes: 60 – 180 kWh) for power supply, and can reportedly cover 1,020 kilometers (633 miles) on a fresh charge. A hypothetical 2,700W charging terminal would fill it to capacity within mere four minutes, but Alieno admits no such terminal exists to this date. Using a 350W charging point would take half an hour.

The Arcanum boasts a carbon-fiber monocoque cabin, carbon/Kevlar body paneling, an active aerodynamic kit, and 4WS. Its push-rod suspension features electronic shocks and ride height adjustments. The cabin dazzles with its many displays and surprises with eight airbags. Telemetry hardware includes 17 cameras, 8 radars, one lidar and a plethora of other miscellaneous sensors.

Each Alieno Arcanum will take between 18 and 30 months to build, the company warns.
