Pininfarina to build an all-new €2M E-hypercar

Automobili Pininfarina – this is what the famous Italian car manufacturer is called now, after the buyout by the Indian automaker Mahindra – has revealed first teaser pics of its brand new, all-electric hypercar.

The car, which goes without a name so far, will be developed in cooperation with Rimac, a Croatian company with a history of creating high-performance power engines.

Automobili Pininfarina says its new hypercar will get four such engines for a total output of around 2,000 horsepower (1,500 kW). By using only state-of-the-art materials and technologies, the manufacturer hopes to keep its weight below two metric tons (4,400 lbs.).

It isn’t final, but the car is likely going to be able to accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in under 2 seconds and reach above 400 km/h (250 mph).

Pininfarina plans to reveal the immensely powerful vehicle in 2020, when the company celebrates its 90th anniversary. Its cost is estimated at €2,000,000.
