U.S.-based company Vanderhall, known for its battery-powered tricycles, has announced the starting price of its new off-roader, Brawley: $34,950 USD.
Pre-orders for the ATV are already being registered starting from $100. The vehicle is not road-legal, so it comes without safety airbags. It is 3.75 meters (146.5 inches) long and has 2.86 m (111.7 inches) between the axles. The exterior gives off Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler vibes at the same time, while the cabin houses four individual seats with integrated headrests and advanced lateral support.
The wheel arches are big enough to accommodate 35-inch tires and enable up to 560 mm (22 inches) of suspension travel. The ground clearance amounts to 460 mm (18 inches), and the overhangs are so short as to be nearly non-existent.
In its top configuration, the Brawley runs on four electric motors mounted one per axle for 410 PS (404 hp / 302 kW) and 651 Nm (480 lb-ft) total. Batteries come in 40 and 60 kilowatt-hour sizes for up to 322 km (200 miles) of range, and charging the bigger one to 80% takes less than an hour.
Drivers will be able to select from multiple off-road drive modes, including ‘Crawling Cruise Control’. The rear wheels will be steerable, and the off-roader will be able to turn on the spot and sidle in tight spots like the Rivian R1T with its Tank Turn and the GMC Hummer EV with its Crab Mode, respectively. Both features will be speed-limited to 16 km/h, or 10 mph.
