Volkswagen has shared interior photos of its ID.4 e-SUV scheduled for reveal later this month. Apparently, smart lighting composed of 30 hues is the killer feature of the model.
The company also pointed out the high-riding seats and the trunk that can hold up to 543 liters (19.2 cubic feet) of luggage with the rear seats vertical.
The minimalistic-looking front fascia houses a digital dashboard and an infotainment screen similar to that of the ID.3 hatchback. Air blowers and décor elements are different from the ID.3, though.
Customers will be able to opt for panoramic glass roof. As for the “smart” ambient lighting, it is programmed to change color whenever there is an incoming call, when the doors are locked for safety reasons, or when the navigation software says you need to change lane.
The ID.4 1ST Max1 Edition will hit the market first of all, bringing along special seats approved by German doctors. These seats sport air-cushioned waistline supports with massage capacity and can be power-adjusted on many levels.
No official information exists on the drivetrain. Depending on the specification chosen, the Volkswagen ID.4 will ship with either one or two electric motors rated up to 300 hp (224 kW) and a battery rated for max. 500 km (310 miles) of range.
