Volkswagen ID.4 GTX debuts with all-wheel drive

Customers in Europe who wanted to obtain an AWD variant of the Volkswagen ID.4 will be able to do so in summer starting from €50,415 for the base spec. The model will also go on sale in North America later, possibly under a different name.

The powertrain is identical to that of the Audi Q4 50 e-tron quattro: dual electric motors join their efforts to produce 299 PS (295 hp / 220 kW). The GTX completes the standard sprint in 6.2 seconds, making it much faster than the 2WD ID.4. The range drops from 520 km (323 miles) to 480 km (298 miles).

Exterior differences include 20-inch wheels, LED Matrix headlights, backlit air intakes, and a new rear bumper. The interior trim is also different with red accents.
