Alieno unveils a 5,500-hp strong hypercar of the future

The Bulgaria-based car maker Alieno has torn the veil off its most spectacular creation, a hypercar called Arcanum. In its top form, the vehicle will feature a carbon body and an all-electric powertrain with 5,521 horsepower (4,117 kilowatts) and 8,800 Newton-meters (6,491 pound-feet) of torque.

The company claims the car can accelerate to nearly 490 km/h (304 mph).

The entire auxiliary framework, the monocoque and the chassis of the vehicle are made of pure carbon-reinforced fiber. The lower platform is additionally strengthened with Kevlar padding, and the entire space-frame structure consists of local reinforcements and deformation zones.

The powertrain of the all-wheel-driven Alieno Arcanum can consist of either 12 or 24 electric motors, i.e. 3 to 6 motors per wheel. Each motor comes equipped with its own electronic control unit. The driver will be able to switch among three modes (Street, Track, and Race) and thus determine inter-axle power distribution.

The motors draw their power from a lithium-polymer-graphene cell array with a capacity of either 60 or 180 kWh. The car will be able to regenerate energy during braking and produce extra “juice” during the moments of rapid acceleration. Its peak driving range is manufacturer-estimated at 1,020 kilometers (635 miles).

The all-electric hypercar features electronically adjustable suspension with manual and automatic adjustment capacity. Compressed-air jacks like those installed on the newest 24 Hours of Le Mans prototype vehicles are also optionally available.

The options list contains such entries as a carbon steering wheel, an electronics self-diagnosis system, side mirrors equipped with five biometric cameras each, carbon-fiber racing seats, a set of electronic driver’s aids, and more.

The company is already accepting pre-orders. Each Alieno Arcanum may cost from €750,000 to €1,500,000, depending on the specification chosen, and takes between 1.5 and 2.5 years to produce.
