The Hiperon Carrier is a $50k all-electric van targeting multiple markets

Aspiring automaker Hiperon Motors has presented a pre-production version of its first car, an all-electric full-size van named the Carrier. Pre-orders will open in January 2022 starting from $49,900, and the company will ship it to North America, Europe and China.

Polish design studio One One Lab came up with a suitably futuristic design of the van. Interestingly enough, despite lacking an ICE drivetrain, the body is two-space rather than single-space. Exterior features include a unique waistline, concealed door handles, cameras instead of side mirrors, and a LED strip that separates the fake hood from the equally fake radiator grille – just like on the Volkswagen ID.Buzz.

In its most basic form, the van has an infotainment system with a 13-inch vertical display, cruise control, satellite navigation, and a rearview camera. Opting for the Pro trim nets you a 15-inch display, a driving assist package with ACC and rain sensors, and heated steering wheel/seats.

Power comes from a single electric motor rated at 269 PS (265 hp / 198 kW) linked to a 75-kWh traction battery rated at 320 kilometers (199 miles) of range. No other options exist here, but Hiperion says it will later offer a 12-seater bus called Hermes and a trailer chassis based on the same drivetrain.
