Startup carmaker Triton Solar has announced its first model, a large electric SUV called Model H. It packs four motors joining their efforts for 1,520 PS (1,500 hp, or 1,192 kW).
The exterior of the vehicle gives off strong Cadillac Escalade vibes. At 5,690 mm (18.67 feet) long and 3,302 mm (10.83 feet) between the axles, it weighs in at 2.4 metric tons (5,300 lbs) and can haul up to 7 metric tons (15,000+ lbs) of cargo in a trailer attachment. The cabin itself accommodates up to eight passengers.
Sprinting from zero to 60 miles per hour (0-97 km/h) reportedly takes only 2.9 seconds, and the car’s enormous 200-kWh traction battery grants it a whopping 700 miles (1,127 km) of range.
Pre-orders are already open starting from U.S. $5,000, provided that you proceed to pay the rest of the $135,000 total within five business days.
Curiously enough, Triton Solar never bothered to build a development prototype of the car, only showing its model instead and disclosing the technical specs listed above. The trim levels remain likewise unannounced, with the company claiming that the first batch of 100 cars will boast ‘unique trim options.’
