The young Portuguese car manufacturer Adamastor has launched sales of its first-ever vehicle, a street-legal racecar named P003RL.
The mid-engine vehicle utilizes a tubular body-on-frame chassis made of stainless steel, which is compliant with the FIA Sport Regulations. The body is mostly made of composite materials. The entire car is 4,200 mm (13 4/5 ft.) long, 1,900 mm (6 1/4 ft.) wide, 1,200 mm (just under 4 ft.) tall and weighs as little as 850 kg (1,875 lb).
One of the main features of the all-new Adamastor P003RL is that it ships with a Ford engine palette. Some are turbocharged, others are naturally-aspirated and between 2.0 and 3.5 liters large. Their power characteristics aren’t being revealed, but the vehicle has a proven power-to-weight ratio of 520+ hp per metric ton.
Options include sport suspension, performance brakes and three types of transmission (manual, sequential and semi-automatic).
Once it reaches the showrooms, the Adamastor P003RL will most likely have to compete with the UK-made Zenos E10, which comes equipped with a 2.3-liter turbo engine rated at 350 hp / 261 kW.
