Following the reveal of its B3 estate/wagon at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, Alpina has come to the Tokyo show with the sedan/saloon version of the car.
The Alpina B3 comes powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder gasoline engine rated at 462 hp (345 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. To put things into perspective, both the BMW X3 M and X4 M pack 480 hp (358 kW) in their standard implementation and 510 hp (380 kW) in the Competition version. The still unreleased M3 should be comparable to the SUVs in terms of power, which means that the new B3 packs more power than the BMW M340i xDrive (369 hp / 275 kW), but less than the M3.
The car benefits from a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system. Sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 3.8 seconds, and hitting 200 km/h (124 mph) takes 13.4 seconds. The top speed amounts to 308 km/h (191 mph).
Pre-orders will open in the beginning of 2020.
