Angelilli Automobili, a 3-D printing specialist based in Rome, is developing a V-6-powered mid-engined supercar, the Tipo 829. The company states the Tipo 829 will offer three versions, each designed for different applications, from track to rally.
The Tipo 829 is built around a 3.2-liter V-6 engine, which is reportedly tuned to produce 500 horsepower. Unlike the original Lancia Stratos, this iteration will feature all-wheel drive. The three planned trims are Terra, Strada, and Pista. The Terra, a rally-inspired version with higher ride height, is expected to be the first to market. The Strada is designed for street performance, while the Pista is a track-focused variant.
Angelilli Automobili has previously worked on a mid-engined Porsche 911 concept and utilized titanium 3-D-printed parts, including brake calipers. The company refers to the Tipo 829 as the third chapter of a trilogy, developed with engineer Nicola Materazzi. However, the company's other limited-run projects, a Lancia Delta Integrale and a hybridized F40 concept, reportedly remain in the prototyping phase, as does this new Tipo 829.
