Arrival is an automaker whose ultimate goal is to design, develop and produce what taxi drivers would describe as the perfect taxi without flaws. The first prototype has already been completed, and is underway to road tests in 2022.
The company says it only spent six months designing it, making sure to do a lot of talking with Uber drivers to better understand their needs and priorities. As a result, the main emphasis was made on visibility. The driver’s cockpit has giant windows all around and a very wide windshield. A short front overhang and a slanted nose also contribute to the great field of view.
Arrival claims the cabin offers twice as much legroom as a conventional car. There is no dashboard in the standard sense, but there is a large infotainment display in the middle of the front panel that also doubles as the gauge cluster.
