Atlis XT pickup gets specs and a premiere date

Arizona-based startup firm Atlis first showed us its all-electric pickup truck, the XT, in early 2019. The production car will debut on November 11, and in the meantime, we can get a better idea about its capabilities.

Compared to the initial prototype, the production car looks seriously changed, especially at the front end. The brake lights also look much more up-to-date now.

The company uses its proprietary platform called XP for the model, which features quad electric motors and a flat traction battery. The electric range can amount to 483, 644 and 805 kilometers (300, 400 and 500 miles) depending on your chosen trim version. The company claims the truck supports high-voltage charging stations up to 1,600V and needs mere 15 minutes to refill its battery. It also features four-wheel steering with the rear wheels turning to 32 degrees.

Ease of maintenance and repair is another priority for Atlis, which reports that replacing an electric motor along with the reduction gear only takes 20 minutes.

Should the Atlis XT reach the market, it will compete against the electric trucks by Bollinger, Ford, GMC, Lordstown Motors, Rivian and Tesla. Prices will allegedly begin from approximately $45,000 USD for the short-wheelbase, standard-battery version. Pre-orders haven’t started yet.
