The Chinese car manufacturer Beijing Auto has revealed a sport utility truck it named the BJ80 6x6. The car, which looks like an almost exact copy of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6, will see a limited-series release in China.
The not-so-original BJ80 6x6 gets a 2.3-liter V4 turbo engine from Saab. The manufacturer reports 250 hp (187 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb·ft) in terms of performance. Buyers will be able to choose between six-speed manual or automatic.
BAIC, a Chinese industrial conglomerate which includes Beijing Auto, struck a deal with General Motors nine years ago, according to which it could equip its vehicles with 2- and 2.3-liter Saab engines.
