Bertone designer sketches up a supercar for China

China-based automaker QEV Auto has come to the Shanghai Auto Show with a supercar whose exterior was conceptualized by Bertone designer Carlos Arroyo Turon.

The biggest highlight is a towering rear wing that rises higher than the roof of the car and is mounted in front of the rear axle. The company claims the body kit is active and can automatically adjust itself based on the movement speed. The rear wheels are half-concealed behind hubcaps to further optimize the drag.

QEV Auto says the supercar should be able to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in two seconds flat and proceed to reach 200 km/h (124 mph) in four seconds. Specific powertrain contents remain a mystery, though. According to CarNewsChina, the vehicle will cost more than 1 million Yuan when it hits the market, or $155,000+ USD. It will be street-legal, but track-focused, and will ship worldwide.
