The publication Automotive
News reported that the carmaker Ford decided to sue the Chinese company Geely
because of the name of their new brand Lynk & Co. The reason for this was
the name of the recently appeared brand, which is too much in tune with the
name of the American brand Lincoln.
Representatives of Ford
stated: "Lincoln Company is 100 years of history, and we intend to protect
its reputation. We take all measures, including lawsuits, to prevent the use of
this illegal brand. In this form, the brand name can confuse customers. "
Whether Ford will be able to
prohibit the Chinese company Geely from using the name Lynk & Co will find
out later.
Back in October last year,
it was known about the appearance of the subbrand Lynk & Co. The first
model of the brand, presented at the same time, was the crossover 01. Geely
worked on the development of the car together with the Swedish engineers Volvo.
The manufacturer counts on the wide popularity of "parketnik" in
European countries.
