Bollinger EVs turn out more expensive than the G-Class

Michigan-based startup car company Bollinger has announced the base prices of their electric off-roaders B1 and B2. Residents of the USA will be able to get either of the cars for $125,000, which is $500 above the list price of the new Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

Both the Bollinger B1 and B2 come based on the same ‘skateboard chassis’ made of aluminum and boast an all-aluminum bodywork. Both come powered by a duo of electric motors joining their efforts for 622 hp (464 kW) and 906 Nm (668 lb-ft) of torque. Sprinting from standstill to 97 km/h (60 mph) takes 4.5 seconds, which isn’t half bad for vehicles weighing in at 2.2 metric tons (4,850 lbs). The EPA-rated driving range amounts to 200 miles, or 322 kilometers.

Other notable features include flexible ride height adjustment (between 10 and 20 inches, or 254 – 508 mm) and overall off-road performance comparable to that of military transports.

Both the pickup truck and the SUV will start rolling off the production lines in 2020.
