Brabham BT62 goes street-legal

Future owners of Brabham BT62 racecars will be able to opt for the Road Compliance Conversion package that will help them convert their track-only rides into street-legal models. The £150,000 package, which is currently under development in the company’s Australian headquarters, will be compatible with brand-new and used cars.

The conversion kit includes turn blinkers, number plate holders, door locks, an immobilizer and an air conditioner. It also comes with an assortment of suspension tweaks that can be applied to raise the road clearance of the car, as well as make its front wheels turn farther to the sides.

There are some interior tweaks as well. On the other hand, the technical specs remain largely unchanged. The car still comes driven by a 5.4-liter naturally aspirated engine rated at 710 hp (529 kW) linked to a pneumatic sequential gearbox. It accelerates the carbon supercar 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.7 seconds and tops out at 320 km/h (200 mph).

The Brabham BT62 supercar series consists of 70 cars priced at £1,000,000.
