Brabham BT62 to attend Goodwood

The new racing coupe Brabham BT62 will have a great opportunity to profile itself at the Goodwood Festival of Speed opening in a week. The car will participate in hill climb races and spend the in-between time sitting in the Michelin Supercar paddock.

This is great news for racecar enthusiasts, since the vehicle has never been shown in motion before.

The Brabham BT62 will enter Goodwood wearing a unique red, blue and light blue livery. The legendary Brabham Alfa Romeo F1 racecar donning the same livery brought its pilot Nicki Lauda the gold of Gran Prix Sweden 40 years ago.

On the technical side of things, the Brabham BT62 packs a 5.4-liter naturally-aspirated engine with over 700 hp (525 kW) at its disposal. The vehicle weighs barely 972 kilograms (2,143 lb) without the driver, and manages to exert up to 1,200 kg (2,645 lb) of downforce at top speeds.

The company plans a limited release of just 70 cars, half of these with the Celebration livery and the other half with a custom paintjob.
