Brabus has introduced the Bodo, a new model built on the Aston Martin Vanquish platform. This marks a continued expansion for Brabus beyond its traditional focus on Mercedes products.
The Bodo is constructed from a fully assembled Vanquish, which is shipped to Brabus in Germany. There, the aluminum body panels are removed, as they are not structural to the Vanquish's bonded and bolted aluminum space frame. This allows for the attachment of new carbon fiber bodywork.
The Bodo coupe starts at approximately $1.17 million, with a convertible version expected to be around $1.7 million. Production will be limited to 77 units. The vehicle features a twin-turbocharged V-12 engine, which Brabus claims produces 985 horsepower, an increase from the Vanquish's 824 horsepower. This power is transmitted through a rear-mounted ZF 8HP eight-speed automatic transmission. The Vanquish's suspension system is also carried over, with adjustments for the Brabus model.
While the Bodo shares many dimensions with the Vanquish, including its 113.6-inch wheelbase, the Bodo is claimed to be longer at 199.3 inches compared to the Vanquish's 192.7 inches, and slightly taller. It also has a claimed dry curb weight of 3911 pounds, which is 417 pounds less than the Vanquish.
