British niche automaker Caterham has unveiled a special edition of its Seven roadster dedicated to the marque’s first production vehicle. The vintage-styled ride will ship in seven unique paints with chrome on the front grille, 14-inch wheels, and Series 3 fenders.
According to the manufacturer, the throttle valves in the limited series have been tuned to make a nostalgia-inducing carburetor-like sound.
Exterior options include unpainted aluminum body details and composite fenders. The inside space comes wrapped in leather, which extends as far as the front panel and the center tunnel. The Smiths dash panel boasts chrome-rimmed classical instruments.
The series comes powered by a 1.6-liter Ford engine rated at 140 horsepower (104 kilowatts), with five-speed manual transmission sending the momentum to the rear axle. Getting from standstill to 97 km/h (0-60 mph) is a matter of five seconds, and the top speed is 196 km/h (122 mph).
The Caterham Super Seven 1600 costs £33,495 in Great Britain before all options.
