The Minister of Industry and informatizations of the People's Republic of China Miao Wei declared that the country will release about 2 million cars worked on so-called new power sources (new energy vehicles, NEV) by 2020.These include electric cars, cars with with a hybrid power-unit and chemical fuel cell (eg, hydrogen).
Recently, the Chinese authorities are concerned about an ecological situation in the country. The Celestial Empire is an industrial giant which has already lost 75% of the woods, at the same time almost all power stations in the country use the dirtiest fuel — coal. Besides, the vehicle fleet of the People's Republic of China is rising rapidly: last year Chinese purchased more than 28 million vehicles. The increase in a share of "green" transport is primarily designed to help the Chinese megalopolises, many of which are shrouded in a caustic smog almost all year. Chinese also hope to occupy a big share of world car markets.
The leading Chinese companies invest about 432 million dollars in the development of eco-friendly concept cars. The PRC leadership, in its turn, will be engaged in the development of infrastructure for recharging electric vehicles. The management of the People's Republic of China in turn will be engaged in development of infrastructure for recharge of electrocars. By 2020, a network of charging stations will be able to handle up to 5 million units of vehicles.
