The cost of monthly operation of the car for residents of 24 European countries was taken into account in rating. As a basis, experts took the expenses for the first three years of use of such compact cars as Opel Corsa, Ford Focus, Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Golf. The annual mileage of the given car made 20 thousand kilometers.
It is quite expected, that Norway, considered in many respects the most expensive country of this part of the world, became the leader of the rating. In a month the usual Norwegian spends on average €708 for gasoline car, diesel "eats" €681.
On the second line experts placed Italy, where petrol car monthly demands €678 (diesel — €621). On the third place — Denmark, where the expenses of motorists make €673 and €656 for petrol and diesel cars respectively.
Russia is on the 16th line in the list. Russians spend about 29 000 rubles per month on cars with petrol engines . Data on diesel cars are not given due to their low popularity in the country.
The cheapest maintenance of a car refers to Hungary residents.
Rating showed that in most European countries to have a diesel car is not so expensive as gasoline. Servicing and repair of a car, for which car owners spend about 37% of the monthly amount, were the largest expense items. Fuel, car insurance, taxes were not so dangerous to motorists' purses.
