The next-generation update of Denza 500, an all-electric vehicle built by Daimler AG and the Chinese-based car company BYD, has recently seen its official premiere. The car comes with updated hardware and up to 500 kilometers’ driving range.
While the new Denza 500 has hardly changed on the outside, it now comes with a large touch-enabled infotainment screen and higher-quality interior trimming. Among other things, buyers get a special mobile app that helps them locate the nearest charging station (of which China has as many as 112,000).
The China-only Denza 500 comes in two trim versions: Lifestyle and Aurora. The former gets an electric engine with 115 hp (85 kW) and 290 Nm (214 lb·ft) of torque. The latter is a high-end model with 190 hp (142 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb·ft) under the hood.
