The era of popular Viper sports car came to an end: Dodge company will stop its production in summer. The head of design department of Fiat Chrysler carmaker Ralph Gilles declared about it within an auto show in Chicago.
The last copy of Dodge Viper will come off of the production line on August 31, 2017. It is noted that all last copies are already sold out, the company ceased to take orders.
Viper debuted in 1989 at Detroit auto show under the name of Copperhead. Later followed the renaming, several modifications, assembly of the fifth generation of the sports car. Under the hood it has a 640-hp V10c with 8.4 liters in volume.The car accelerates to 100 km/h in 3,5 seconds, the maximum speed makes 332 km/h.
Meanwhile it isn't clear whether Viper will have a receiver. It is noted, that the car didn't make profit for the company and didn't conform to safety requirements of 2018. And nevertheless many experts noted that news about the termination of release of the sports car, a living legend, became the most sad moment of this Chicago auto show.
