Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 gets a pure racecar version

The regular Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 may be a road-legal vehicle, but it is still a racecar at heart. Acknowledging this, the Netherlands-based automotive marque decided to release a track-only variant of it with the added “R” suffix.

The model still comes powered by an Audi 2.5 TFSI rated at 421 PS (415 hp / 310 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque, but it eschews the five-speed manual in favor of a six-speed sequential gearbox. The entire transmission also gets track-specific reinforcements.

The interior greets with bucket seats, a fire extinguishing system and an advanced telemetry system. A speed suit and a helmet are available at a premium.

The new Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 R needs 2.7 seconds for 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph), 7.7 seconds for 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph), and maxes out at 280 km/h (174 mph). Prices start from €198,000.
