Facebook ad lists a three-wheeled pizza delivery vehicle built like a plane

A most unusual sales ad has recently surfaced on the Facebook Marketplace, inviting people to buy a three-wheeled prototype vehicle called the ‘Tritan A2’. Apparently, the vehicle acted as a delivery car for Domino’s Pizza in the 1980s.

On the outside, the car looks like an airplane minus the wings. It does not have any kind of conventional doors, so you have to use the sliding canopy in order to get inside, just like with the real planes.

Built by Michigan-based manufacturer Tritan Ventures (the company is no longer in business), the Tritan A2 series originally included 10 cars.  Only seven are said to survive to this day, including three exhibited in museums in Japan and the US, two in private collections and two others with their status unknown.

The rear-drive, three-wheel pizza car came equipped with a 0.4L rotary engine rated at 30 hp (22 kW). It could accelerate to a maximum of 150 km/h (93 mph) and took around 17 seconds to get to 100 km/h (60 mph).

The asking price is U.S. $23,000.
