After a change of leadership last May, Faraday Future has announced the construction of a new factory in China that would churn out up to 100,000 annual EVs.
According to the contract, Geely will assist with the production, and a research center will be opened next to the production site.
Yueting Jia, Chinese businessman who founded the streaming platform Le.com and the LeEco brand, founded Faraday Future seven years ago investing his own money. He ultimately failed to settle the debts with all the creditors and had to pass the company over.
The startup only has one concept vehicle in its portfolio so far: the SUV named FF91, which broke cover in 2017 (peek inside the gallery and watch the video for details). Perhaps this will be the company’s first production car when it finishes building its factory in China.
