Swiss carmaker GreenGT has a long history of promoting hydrogen powertrains for professional motorsport uses, and has its own fuel cell cars named the LMPH2G and H24 to show for being eco-friendly. After visiting (but not taking part in) the 24 Hours of Le Mans last fall, the company has now arrived in Goodwood, UK.
Visitors of the Festival of Speed can take a closer look at the LMPH2G sitting in the Michelin Supercar paddock. The important thing to realize is that the car is no longer a show queen: it will participate in a hill climb race this time around.
The powertrain comprises multiple motors driven by a fuel cell array with 653 PS (644 hp / 480 kW). The prototype racer can climb as high as 300 km/h (186 mph), according to the manufacturer.
Michelin, a partner of GreenGT, will have a premiere of its own in the ongoing Goodwood Festival. It will show an innovative tire design nearly 50% made from environmentally clean materials.
