Hispano Suiza unveils its new all-electric Grand Tourer

Resurrected car marque Hispano Suiza has released a single teaser pic showing its upcoming all-electric GT vehicle called Carmen. The car will be present at the Geneva International Motor Show for everyone to see.

The model name pays homage to Carmen Mateu, a granddaughter of one of the original company’s founders. The car is based on a hand-engineered carbon-fiber monocoque.

The designers drew their inspiration from the vintage 1938 H6C Coupe that used to be produced by the Spanish marque before the World War II.

The company will mass-produce the Hispano Suiza Carmen on the factory grounds of QEV Technologies in Barcelona. QEV Technologies is a Spanish company that designs and produces conversion kits for turning regular ICE cars into all-electric vehicles. It also a technological partner of several Formula E teams.

The last Hispano Suiza premiere was in 2010. Back then, the company arrived at the Geneva show with a custom supercar based on the Audi R8 platform and having 749 horsepower (559 kilowatts) at its disposal.
