Erwin Hymer Group is widely known as a motorhome manufacturer. Today, it unveiled a modular autonomous vehicle concept called the Galileo.
The car platform consists of a flat-bottomed chassis and an electric powertrain. You can mount a variety of custom living modules on top of it. Such an approach enables designers to create all sorts of interiors knowing that they are interchangeable. Moreover, you can rent the chassis out for short periods of time, fitting it with different cabin types based on customer needs. There are no conventional car controls inside, which has an added benefit of more free space to live in.
Production prospects remain unclear at the moment.
